This was, as far as I am concerned, only one small step below Serenity in enjoyment.

The Soloist is right in line with Wright’s other films, falling short a bit mostly for script issues than for anything having to do with the directing. Nevertheless, this is a film that is worth the watch.

Timecrimes is an exciting, interesting film regarding time travel that does not require you to have a Ph. D. on quantum physics to understand it.

I simply can not see anybody saying, I must have this movie so I can watch it over and over and then watch it with my buddies. But like other movies that have something worthwhile to say, this movie is most definitely worth the watch and one of the best of 2008.

Filled with humor and well developed drama and romance, this is a modern take on friendship/love films that is bound to remind you of similar times in your own life, trips taken and friends made that seem like the flicker of a candle over the timeline of your life but whose names and stories are unforgettable.

While it could be argued that the film does not explore enough the relationships that ensue, breezing over the story with an almost carefree, detached way, one never feels like it seriously detracts from the final product, a fact that is likely to draw a wider audience as the director surely intended.

It is a bad movie, no way around this, but it does manage to entertain, so when you see my rating, add another star or half a star for entertainment value. If this is your sort of movie…you gon’ dig this!

All being said, while it may not be a brain tickler, this film is most definitely a fun action ride to take and it does have something to say, even if it does spend more bullets than words in saying it.
