Keanu: Cowboy Bebop Script too good, can’t make it.
Posted by Todd on Sep 29, 2009 in Movie News, Twitter Feed • No commentsI can’t say I’m too excited about Keanu Reeves playing Spike in a live action American remake of the anime series “Cowboy Bebop”, but really Keanu? the script is too awesome?
“There’s a draft of the script, but the writer did such a great job [that] in order to make the movie you would need half a billion dollars. So the studio went, ‘This movie is fantastic and it would cost half a billion dollars so he’s doing a rewrite”.”
After the quality of effects in movies like Serenity and District 9, you can no longer say a film is too expensive to make. If done right, Cowboy Bebop will be a successful film and can be done on a reasonable budget. So, if anything, this just tells me you have little faith in your ability to make a quality film Neo. So remind me why it’s being made again?
